Amateurs beat Pros in 2016 Nor Cal Cup Match

Left to right:  Sally Tomlinson, Linda DeLong, Carol Park, Marianne Towersey, Juvy Timan, Sandy Woodruff, Lynne Cowan, Leslie Voegtly, Jacque Bowman, Sandy Szczerbin, Joy Robinson.  Kneeling:  Eva Monisteri, Stephanie Bellato

The 19th Nor-Cal cup was played on October 11th and 12th at Carmel Valley Ranch. Nine holes of the best ball format were played on Sunday.  Monday was 18 holes of Scramble followed by the Chapman format (9 holes each).  The Amateurs were victorious in getting the cup back after a two year drought with a score of 16 to 8.  Our record now is 14 to 5. Each and every match was important and exciting to watch.  We had a fantastic dinner Sunday night at the Hotel Abrego with the Pros and Amateurs which seemed to bring us closer together. Thank you to Eva Monisteri, Nancy Maul and Caroline O'Brien who worked tirelessly in getting everything organized.  Also a big thank you to Joanne Holman, Penny Wright, Bob Young (and his Mom) and Caroline O'Brien for their support at the matches. I know the players appreciated them being there as I did.  Congratulations to all who played.
